How to redeem an Xbox code (console, PC and web)

Xbox codes have 25 characters (XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) and are tied to your Microsoft account. They are used for games, Game Pass, balance and DLC.

Steps

  1. 1In the browser: go to redeem.microsoft.com and sign in with your Microsoft account.
  2. 2Type the 25-character code and click «Next».
  3. 3Check the product shown and click «Confirm».
  4. 4On the console: Xbox button → Store → menu → «Redeem» and enter the code.
  5. 5The game appears in «My games & apps», ready to install.

Tips & common issues

  • Many Xbox codes are region-locked: your Microsoft account must be in the product's region.
  • Game Pass stacks if you already have an active subscription (up to 36 months).
  • If you see «code already redeemed», open a ticket from your order.
