Mina the Hollower Confirms New Modes and Physical Edition

PC Gamer reported that studio co-founder Cris Velasco previously told Bloomberg that the release of Mina the Hollower was a make-or-break situation for the studio. During a recent Reddit AMA, Yacht Club Games discussed the commercial success of the action and adventure title following its May 29, 2026 release date. The studio confirmed that future updates featuring speedrunning and randomizer modes are currently in active development.

Critical reception and studio focus

Critical praise accompanied the commercial performance of the game. Eurogamer gave Mina the Hollower a five-star review score and commended its design, calling it an adventure that takes inspiration from the greats.

I think we learned mostly that keeping the team tight and focused is what helped Mina land.

Eurogamer reports that studio co-founder Nick Wozniac stated that maintaining a focused team helped make Mina the Hollower successful. That focused approach helped the team steer the project through high development stakes into a verified commercial achievement.

Physical edition plans for Nintendo Switch

Community questions during the Reddit AMA also addressed the status of boxed media. Yacht Club Games stated that a physical edition for Nintendo Switch remains planned for release by next year. Nintendo Life reports that fans can anticipate that upcoming launch window, even though an exact calendar date is not yet attached to the project.

We’re working on finding the right publishing and distribution partner to make it happen.

Nintendo Life reports that Yacht Club is actively seeking a publishing and distribution partner to release the physical edition. The studio confirmed that although the physical edition lacks a release date, it remains in progress while those business arrangements proceed.

Where this leaves buyers

Buyers evaluating a purchase have distinct options depending on hardware preferences and format requirements. Players waiting for a boxed cartridge on Nintendo Switch cannot purchase that version today, as Yacht Club is still seeking a publishing partner and expects that release next year.
