Crimson Desert Enhanced Five-Hour Console Trial Begins

Following its initial launch on March 19, 2026, Crimson Desert Enhanced has expanded with the release of the Charting the Unknown expansion. Eurogamer and Pure Xbox reported that Pearl Abyss released a five-hour free trial on Xbox and PlayStation consoles on October 29, 2026, to mark the arrival of this new expansion. The trial is designed to let interested players test the base game on consoles before deciding whether to make a purchase. Any progress made during the trial carries over to the full game upon purchase, so testers keep their save data if they choose to buy.

Console access and availability

Console players face differing access rules depending on the hardware platform they own.

The trial is available to PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe subscribers on PlayStation, and to all players on Xbox.

Pure Xbox confirmed that Xbox users are able to download the five-hour free trial on the Xbox Store until January 7. For the wider calendar across platforms, Eurogamer reported that the free trial for the game is scheduled to run from October 29 until January 6. This timeline leaves several months for console owners to download the base client and test gameplay before the offer expires in early January.

Trial scope and sales milestones

The five-hour time limit is not the only boundary placed on the demonstration release.

The trial covers only the Crimson Desert Enhanced base game

Eurogamer reported that Crimson Desert achieved sales exceeding six million units in its initial three months, establishing strong commercial momentum ahead of the expansion launch. Because the download excludes the Charting the Unknown content, trial players experience only the core adventure during their allotted five hours. Those interested in the expansion must acquire the full release separately.

Where this leaves buyers

Console players have until January to utilize the five-hour window, but PC players must navigate different purchasing options. Crimson Desert Enhanced is cataloged under the action, adventure, and open world genres. Store listings feature standard Steam keys alongside options for Steam account delivery, giving buyers multiple ways to acquire the game. These catalog options are available globally and across Latin America, with exceptions for Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Store records do not currently include a Metacritic score or a Steam user rating for the title, so prospective buyers must rely on the console trial details, genre information, and previous sales figures when deciding on a purchase.
